Join the Great British Dog Walk this year

The Great British Dog Walk in aid of Hearing Dogs for Deaf People is back, with 20 fun-filled countryside walks hosted between March and June 2017.

Around 4,000 adults and over 500 dogs are expected to take part and fundraise towards training life-transforming dogs that benefit deaf children and adults.

Hearing dogs not only alert their owners to important sounds such as the doorbell, alarm clock or smoke alarm, but they can also provide independence, confidence and inclusion for that person, whether at home or out and about. They also provide companionship and increase social and professional interaction, significantly improving health and wellbeing.

Hearing Dogs for Deaf People chief executive Michele Jennings said, "The charity is celebrating its 35th anniversary this year and is very proud to have had such a positive impact on thousands of lives. But we couldn't have achieved what we have without the help of our wonderful supporters taking part in events such as the Great British Dog Walk and the dedication of all our volunteers.

"Following the success of last year’s events, I hope the 2017 walks in our great British countryside get tails wagging and faces smiling all over the UK."

Each venue will offer two different routes, plus refreshments will be available. There is a free special limited-edition Great British Dog Walk doggie bandana and opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win a luxury Forest Holidays getaway.
