Dog Friendly Events in the UK – September & October 2016
It’s that time of year when the temperature begins to drop, the leaves begin to change colour and your dogs begin to get a little…muddier.
It’s still a great time to get out and about with your dog and enjoy the autumn scenery. Here’s a list of some great dog-friendly events taking place in September and October.
24th to 25th September – All About Dogs Show Hylands
An event for dog lovers and their dogs. Event takes place from 9.30am to 5pm at Hylands, Essex CM2 8WQ. Speak to dog professionals, have a go at some of the activities, enter competitions and watch doggie demonstrations. Tickets for adults on the gate are £9.00 and parking is free.

1st October – Doggy Fun Day
Come along to this dogtastic event at the award-winning Mercat Grill in Whitecraig, East Lothian, and enjoy entertainment for the whole family. The winners from their Facebook competition will be announced (more info at https://www.facebook.com/events/139455293160833/ and they’ll be plenty of shopping opportunities for you and your pooch. Event takes place from 1pm to 5pm.

9th October – W.A.L.K for The Mayhew
Join London charity The Mayhew Animal Home for a sponsored dog walk in Hampstead Heath – starting at 11.30am. The walk celebrates World Animal Week, and goody bags will be given to participants. There’s also a prize for most sponsorships. Pick between two different routes: 2.5km or 5km.

15 October - Dog Day Afternoon
The annual Dog Day Afternoon at the Cabbages and Frocks market, Marylebone, takes place between 11am and 5pm, with free competitions beginning at 2.30pm. Categories include Mixed breeds, Best dog trick, Waggy tail, Miniatures and toy breeds, Matching Pairs, Best puppy, Oldies and Best in show. You can also watch displays from the Good Boy Dog School, plus lots of shopping opportunities. The Weeping chef will be making a delicious dog-friendly stew, as well as food for humans.

16th October – Herts Heli Hound Charity Dog Walk
The Herts Air Ambulance Heli Hounds Dog Walk will follow a 5km route around Fairlands Valley Park in Stevenage. Pre-register for £5 per dog or pay on the day for £7 per dog. Registration opens at 10am and walk starts at 11am.

22nd & 23rd October - Discover Dogs
ExCel London hosts this years Discover Dogs show hosted by The Kennel Club and sponsored by Eukanuba! Meet hundreds of dogs, chat to owners, great shopping and watch world-class displays and competitions. A great day out for the whole family – and under 12s go FREE! Please note Dogs are not allowed to attend this event - Discover dogs is an event where you can meet over 200 breeds of dog and is a great place for people looking to find out more about dogs.
