Are You Ready for Halloween?

Are You Ready for Halloween?

It's almost Halloween, that magical time of year where you can leave the house looking pretty scary and it's actively encouraged. If you're thinking about getting something for your pet to celebrate but don't want to commit to a proper costume, there are a few subtler options available. (We've also got a few Halloween themed items for humans too)

One of the easiest ways to get your pet in the Halloween spirit is to update their collar with a bandana. It's a perfect compromise if (like office dogs Poppy and Ralph) your dog simply refuses to move with anything more than a collar put on them. We've picked our favourite spooky designs from Salt Dog Studios and Creature Clothes - both brands offer fantastic quality designs which are handmade in the UK.

If you're really looking to co-ordinate this Halloween, Salt Dog Studios offer matching leads and collars for their Pumpkin Pie, Witching Hour and Beetle Juice Halloween bandanas. What's more, their fabric collars use inner webbing for strength, so rather than paying over the odds for a throwaway novelty pet costume, these can be re-used year after year - great if you're planning a few trips trick or treating!

Sometimes however, it's nice to be so subtle that people might not be entirely sure whether you're loving Halloween - or just a big fan of all things orange.
The Creature Clothes neon orange leather dog collar is beautifully made and subtle enough you could easily use it year-round for your dog. I've picked the bone stud design as it's slightly more Halloween themed, but it also comes with stars studs or hearts.
If you're not keen on dressing your pup up at all this year, we've included some toys in our Halloween collection - so you can keep them busy while you're answering the door to the trick or treaters. The Dino dog toy by Cycle Dog has a squeaky head and a space in its belly for you to fill with treats - which will keep your dog so busy, they might not even hear the doorbell ring! We've tested these toys for ourselves and they are made of really thick, robust recycled rubber - so if your dog is prone to destroying toys in seconds this brand could be worth a look.
