The poor little pup was initially bred for the cruel and illegal practice of dog fighting but thankfully she was rescued by the American Society for the Protection of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
Stewart is fostering Ginger to help her find a permanent home and raise awareness about adopting pets by spreading PETA's ‘Adopt don’t Shop’ scheme.

The famous thespian revealed the latest addition to his family on US chat show Conan last Wednesday, telling the talk show host that Ginger is the first dog he has had in 50 years.
“She only arrived a few hours ago, at our house. I’ve longed for this moment to come. She comes from a Pit bull fighting ring. She was a breeding dog for a fighting ring. They’re all over the country, every state has these things and they’re very cruel.
“Now she’s with us, but we are only fostering her and we are looking for a permanent home for her.”

Both Stewart and his wife, Sunny Ozell, will continue to work with shelters to foster and find homes for more dogs on an ongoing basis.
