This popular favourite Family Fun Dog Show in Princetown, Devon is not only a great day out for the whole clan, but is if for a good cause too! It is in aid of Greyhound Rescue West of England. 15 August 2015 – The North East Dog Festival
On Saturday 15th August a large field within the grounds of Whitehouse Farm will be transformed into a sea of trade stands, demonstrations and dog related activities as The North East Dog Festival takes place for the first time. The fun-filled festival will house local businesses as well as providing a stage for the public to take part in have-a-go activities and watch demonstrations from local clubs and charities. As well as the opportunity to pick up some unique crafts and gifts, there is also the chance to taste the culinary delights from some of the North Easts best local producers. It isn’t just a festival for dogs! Local charities and dog trainers have clubbed together to provide a packed timetable for spectators in the main ring including a gundog demonstration and the MUSHER sled dogs. Don’t have a dog? Don’t worry – the festival is aiming to create a great day out for the whole family with pony rides, mini- petting zoo, bouncy castle, fairground and more. Plus, there will be a champagne tent and terrier racing! Entry for the exciting event is FREE. Yay!  And with parking charged at £2 per car, it’s too good a bargain to miss.

16 August 2015 – Tea Party, Dog Show & Barking Bake Off at Buscot Park
Afternoon tea, delicious cakes, auction and a fantastic dog show – it can only be the annual Tea Party at Buscot Park, Oxfordshire. What goes better with tea and cake, than some gorgeous dogs to enjoy it with! With a fun dog show including some great competitions and classes, a parade, fantastic raffle and many more, this day is set to be one of the best for families all over. More importantly, this year sees the launch of the Barking Bake Off – a splendid opportunity to put your baking skills to the test. Champions will not only be crowned for the best human cake, but also the best dog cake. Snuff, Buscot Park’s resident whippet, will apply her judging skills to the canine cakes. 23 August 2015 – Talking Dogs Scentwork 1
Based in Nottinghamshire, this summer event is your introduction to scentwork, where you and your dog learn the basics. Your dog will be introduced to a specific scent and will be encourage to give an active indication. For example, your dog plays with the scented article or eats the food find rather than going still and staring or sitting in from of it. Clever and easy! You will learn about the scent picture, basic handling skills, free searching and blind searches.
There are no pre-requisites for dogs, or handlers, attending this workshop, all are welcome. So don't miss this opportunity to get your hands (or paws!) on training your dog from the very beginning.
