Dog Friendly Events in the UK – April 2017

They say April is one of the wettest months of the year, but knowing our pooches, that won’t stop them from exploring the great outdoors. Here’s some great dog-friendly opportunities that are worth braving all weathers for.  
 
2nd April – Bark in the Park Charity Dog Walk at Harrow Lodge Park
 
You and your dog can take part in the 3.5km Havering Mind Dog Walk for mental health charity Mind. For £5 per dog, you’ll receive a free goody bag and certificate. There will also be food and refreshments available and stalls selling dog products. Registration from 11am and walk starts at 12pm.

2nd April – The Great British Dog Walk at Yorkshire Sculpture Park
 
Choose a 3km or 8km walk and help raise money for Hearing Dogs. Visit the 500-acre outdoor gallery of over 80 sculptures, and many family activities and stalls. Adults £10.

8th – 9th April – All About Dogs at Newbury Showground, Berkshire
 
This event is the stuff of doggie dreams, with canine competitions, demonstrations, have-a-go activities and endless opportunities to pamper your pooch. Special guests Lucy Heath and Trip Hazard from Britain’s Got Talent will perform on Sunday.

9th April – The Great British Dog Walk at Margam Park, Port Talbot
 
If you live close to Port Talbot, there will be another opportunity to help raise money for Hearing Dogs on the 9th April. As well as walking through the stunning grounds, there will be a hearing dog demonstration, face painting and a number of stalls.

12th – 13th April – Cognitive Skills workshop with Kay Atwood
 
Places are limited so make you book your place asap for this unique two-day event at Chesterfords Community Centre, Essex, CB10 1NS. Learn new skills that can help your dog behaviourally or for general well-being. There will be lots of activities to try to help improve your dog’s cognitive abilities and stave off dementia.

16th – 17th April – All About Dogs at Trinity Park, Suffolk
 
After Newbury, All About Dogs arrives at Trinity Park with special guests Lucy Heath and Trip Hazard from Britain’s Got Talent performing on Sunday.

22nd April – The Great British Dog Walk at Gisburn Forest, Lancashire
 
Gisburn Forest is nestled within the Forest of Bowland Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Enjoy the stunning scenery and see if you can spot the wildlife along the way. Uneven terrain means this walk is unsuitable for wheelchair users and pushchairs.

22nd April – The Great British Dog Walk at Hughenden Manor, High Wycombe
 
Enjoy a great day out for the whole family. Choose from a 3km or 6km walk. Unfortunately, the walks are unsuitable for pushchairs or wheelchairs.

22nd – 23rd April – All About Dogs at Newark Showground. Nottinghamshire

29th April – The Great British Dog Walk at Windsor Great Park
 
Choose from 4km or 9km walks which include stunning views over Windsor castle and Cow Pond. Refreshments available. Dogs must be kept on leads.

30th April – Faversham Markets Doggy Day
 
Humans and dogs welcome! Enjoy a fun event at the centre of the medieval market town of Faversham, including a dog show (£2 entry), dog-friendly pubs and cafes and stalls selling unique dog gifts.
