We all love our pet’s but do we love them this much? Of course we do...
Founded towards the end of 2012, Petcube has become the global leader in ‘Connected-Pet’ technology. Based in San Francisco, the company’s first product – the Petcube Camera – is an interactive pet camera that lets you – the owner – see, talk to and play with your pet from a remote location. Petcube’s dedication to connecting people with their pets through technology is what makes this new-found gadget stand out, in a crowd of cheaper and less well constructed pet-tech-safety solutions.
The Petcube camera is the best-selling indoor pet camera. I know, initially I thought to myself – isn’t this a step too far? I mean, I love my dogs but do I really need to have a mobile portal on my phone that allows me to see their every movement? However, just with baby monitors, this is a device that not only ensures the safety of your pet but also gives you peace of mind knowing that your home is secure too.
With its 720p HD video modifications you can interact with your pet through a 2-way visual audio link that is downloaded in the form of an app on your phone. With sound motion detection, you will only be notified of major movements in front of the camera or disturbances in your home; the Petcube removes background noise so you only get alerts that matter to you. By signing up to Petcube Care you can record up to 30 days of timeline history – every Petcube Camera coming with a free 30-day trial subscription. It also has a ‘Do Not Disturb’ mode for when you don’t want to be bothered!
Not only does the Petcube Camera contain a HD video monitor, it also comes with an in-built (low-powered) laser beam with which one can play with their pets anytime, anywhere! If you’re too busy simply use the autoplay mode which will keep your furry friend fully entertained for as long as you see fit.
It’s well built - both strong and stable - not to mention being a beautifully designed piece of kit. Easy to set up anywhere in your home, it has a rubber non-slip bottom and a standard tripod mount which enables you to place the Petcube Camera on a flat surface or a higher position using a standard tripod. The one and only drawback that springs to mind is the lack of a night vision mode. However, if a high-quality pet camera is what you’re after, the Petcube will provide that and more. Plus, if it's good enough for Harry Potter's very own Emma Watson, it's good enough for us here at Purrfectly Yappy!
A well-proven product, the video recording system helps you keep an eye on your pet’s activities whilst the two-way audio link allows you to calm your pet down if things start to get a little hectic. It’s compatible with many devices whether its iOS, Android or Apple Watch and the app is easy to download and follow in set-up. It also contains a rather nifty feature within the app that allows others to see and play with rescue centre pets – in the hope that they too can be entertained – whilst waiting for their forever homes!
