Outward Hound Star Spinner Dog Puzzle
I have three dogs. They have all been rescued from Romania where the conditions in which they lived were harsh. Food is incredibly scarce to come across if you’re a feral dog with no owner to look after you. This probably explains the ravenous approach they employ come dinner time. It’s literally a nutrition gauntlet with all three descending upon their feeding bowls at about five o’clock.
However, fast eating is not just an issue with rescue dogs. A lot of dogs, especially puppies from large litters in which they would have had to fend off competitors and ‘guard’ their food, are precisely the same as my three. Of course, we all know what the risks involving ‘gorging’ are, we can recall our own experiences of eating too quickly and the resulting indigestion. The exact same can be said for dogs and their inability to chew food which subsequently has the same effect.
Outward Hound are a new company that came to the fore only last year. They work with a team of dog-loving designers and product experts to improve the lives of pet owners with newfangled but meaningful innovations, that are essentially brilliant products for both you and your dog.
The company’s mission is to create products that are not only durable, engaging and fun but solve common problems in a fun and engaging way. Here they’ve focused on creating a smart feeder that helps your dog eat in a healthier manner but in an intricate and stimulating way.
The Star Spinner as it’s known, inspires your dog to seek out the hidden treats in a natural, problem-solving way. Each of the 10 chambers have a small container that can be filled with doggy treats or kibbles.
