The temperature’s heating up as we approach summer and there are plenty of dog friendly events and outdoor activities popping up this month. We’ve picked some of our favourites from across the country…

Yorkshire Great British Dog Walk at Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Water Garden
Enjoy a 5km or 9km walk around the stunning National Trust’s Fountain Abbey and enjoy the sights of the abbey ruins, water garden and medieval deer park, whilst supporting Hearing Dogs.  £10 per adult.

The National Pet Show at ExCeL London
Sadly you can’t take your pets along to this indoor event but they’ll be plenty of other animals to see and you’ll get to meet animal experts who can provide advice for your pet. Channel 4’s Supervet Professor Noel Fitzpatrick will be presenting the Eukanuba Supervet Live, and BBC's Spring and Autumn Watch presenter Michaela Strachan is hosting SuperDogs Live.

Dog-friendly cinema at Picture House Central, London
Get your dog-friendly popcorn ready! Picture House Central is putting on a special screening of the Oscar nominated ‘Heart of a Dog’ (15), and your four-legged friend is invited to enjoy the movie with you. The showing is part of their Dog Gone Crazy! season celebrating dogs in cinema. There will be an introductory Q&A with artist and filmmaker, Laurie Anderson, and booking is essential. Tickets are £18 per pet and person and can be booked via Picture House Central.

Paws in the Park Spring Show at South of England Showground, West Sussex
Treat your dog to this fun day out with lots of have a go activities, arena displays and competitions. There’s also plenty of shopping stalls to browse through. Adult tickets cost £9 and child ticket is £7.

The Great Hampstead Bark Off 2016 - May Parliament Hill, Hampstead Heath
The Great Hampstead Bark Off is back on the Heath for its third year running! Has your pooch got what it takes to be the next Mr or Miss Heath? Or are you ready to take on the challenge and present your dog-themed cake creation or doggy dish to our panel of Bark Off Judges? It is £5 per category to enter the Dog Show and the Bake Off is free to enter! Spectators can enjoy the highs and lows of the hotly contested canine catwalk and baking bonanza free of charge as well!

Canine Country Etiquette classes in the Cotswolds
The Old Swan & Minster Mill in the Cotswolds will be hosting outdoor etiquette classes on select weekends, starting in May. Teach your pooch new tricks in idyllic Cotswold surroundings. Lessons include obedience training, puppy to adult training, country etiquette training, gundog training, dog behaviour and water training. Lessons will also offer dietary advice and plenty of tips for owners to take away. Starting from £15 per dog for an hour-long class. More classes scheduled later in the year.

Family Fun Day and Dog Show at Worcester Woods Country Park
Severn Veterinary Centre is hosting a charity dog show in aid of working dogs within our community and money raised from the event will go to PAT (Pets as Therapy), Guide Dogs, Hounds for Heroes, Dogs for Good and Hearing Dogs. On the day you and your dog can enjoy flyball demonstrations, live bands and enter one of 12 show classes.

Greyhound Extravaganza at the Animal Health Trust, near Newmarket
Held by the retired Greyhound Trust (RGT), this event promises to be a fantastic day out for all the family, including your dog. Take part in one of the dog show classes, and enjoy entertainment, shopping and refreshments throughout the day.

South Wales Dog and Family Fun Day, Fonmon Castle Showground
